Known for making art that employs black humour and hovers on the edge of public acceptance, Diana Thorneycroft has pursued subject matter that often challenges her viewing audience. Developing themes of her previous work, Thorneycroft produced a quirky, stop-motion animation entitled Black Forest Sanatorium. The film debuted at the 2020 Vancouver International Film Festival and has since been shown in 7 other venues in Canada, Australia and the United States. The film, along with the puppets and sets, will be shown at at PLATFORM centre from September 17th to October 29, 2021.
