home bodies is a photo/video-based installation by Larry Glawson, installed in the historic two-storey space at 284 William Avenue.
Begun in 2002, a prototype version of Glawson’s home bodies was shown in the Art Lab at the University of Western Ontario. Some of the photos and one of the videos have appeared in a number of group shows in Winnipeg and beyond since 2003. This will be the first time that the project, in its latest form, will be presented as a solo effort anywhere.
During the public run the artist will be treating 284 William as a makeshift laboratory. Works may be moved, removed, replaced, resized, and so on over the course of the exhibition. Work will continue to be added to the installation throughout the month of June. This evolving installation will culminate in a closing reception Thursday evening, June 26th.
